Smoked andouille sausage, blackened halibut, clams, large prawns and whatever else goes into an amazing Cajun Seafood Stew awaited a pick-up order Sunday evening – all to be washed down with a Stella or two. Mrs. Holliday joined in. All thanks to that Tulane win and cover on Saturday, as we honored the Green Waves cajun roots. Heavenly.
We were fortunate to bounce back with a winning week on the heels of getting gut-punched in the previous issue, booking a 3-0 ATS last Saturday/Sunday. Back at it, with a bit of a twist in this column. I play a lot of college basketball (play, as in bet, not actually play, you know, play…you get it). So I’m going to add a college hoops play from the Friday schedule to the picks, joining in with a Friday college football play, and an NFL pick.
I’ll also have a couple of plays posted for Patreon members, so join in to connect and get the extra plays.
Good luck this week!

College B-Ball
Florida State vs. Temple
The Noles take on Jamal Mashburn Jr. and Temple in Connecticut at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off. I like this FSU team. The key in this matchup is containing Mashburn, who can do it all, and if allowed, will be a one-player wrecking crew. I think they can manage Mashburn enough to not let him go-off and kill them.
Play: I’m on Florida State -4.5
College Football
Illinois vs. Rutgers
Neither team has had much success stopping opposing offenses, and I don’t see that changing today. I’ve never been a Greg Schiano fan, and that continues in this matchup, but I will give some credit where it’s due, as it does look like he’s turned this Rutgers program around. But I like the matchups for this 7-3 Illinois team with their offense, leading to points. I’ll take the better team that should have more success when their offense has the ball.
Play: I’m on Illinois -1
Lions vs. Colts
The Lions are absolutely freaking rolling, putting up some crazy numbers last week. Goff had a near perfect (or maybe it was actually perfect) QB rating last week vs. the Jags, and the offense and defense had a near perfect day. The Colts, at home, will have some pushback ready to go. It’s going to be hard to stay up for another non-conference opponent after that performance last week. I like this set-up for an Indy home side getting more than a TD.
