The team was able to put together another winning week of hockey plays, going 4-1 with the five plays we highlighted. That added up to a profit of 3.05. We maybe stole one last Tuesday with our play on the Carolina Hurricanes as a small home dog vs. the Stars. They were down 3-1 heading into the third, before mounting a comeback in a barrage of goals over the last 20 minutes. The teams scored six goals in total in that final frame, with the Canes snagging the win and cashing for us once all the smoke cleared.
If you’re interested in more NHL plays, we post a handful more up during the week over at the Winner’s Edge Patreon account (it’s free). You can check out more hockey there.
Good luck this week!

Vancouver vs. Buffalo
The Canucks got a bit embarrassed by the Penguins in their last start on Wednesday night. Prior to that they’ve been road warriors, with the best road record in the league. They’re a better team than Pittsburgh (backup goalie Arturs Silovs played in net in this one), and they’re a better team than these Sabres. A little hesitation, as it’s an early body clock game on the East Coast for the Canucks, and they’re maybe starting to miss JT Miller in a bigger way, but Petey is stepping up, they have Brock Boeser back, and Hughes is playing like one of the two best defensemen in the league every night out. Like this spot for a road team that should be giving us a decent line, to bounce back with a win.
Play: We’re on the Canucks
New York Islanders at Washington
The Capitals have had, for them and what was expected, a great start to the season. They weren’t supposed to be hanging around near the top of the Conference. The Islanders are right about where we all thought they’d be, down near the bottom and fighting to try and not let the playoffs become a distant hope too early in the season. With that, we like them to have some pushback in this spot. The Caps are playing without Ovi right now, and have still been winning, but when you take Ovechkin out of the lineup, and look at the line matchups we expect, New York actually shapes up okay, even without one of their top players (Matt Barzal). They typically get very strong goaltending, and with the Capitals back home off a trip to Florida that saw them win both games (vs. Tampa and Florida), this bottom dweller could catch them in a bit of a letdown spot. We’ll take what should be a very healthy underdog.
Play: We’re on the Islanders.
Saturday, November 30th
Toronto at Tampa Bay
We’re on a rested Leafs team, who were awful in their last start (a 5-1 loss to Florida) looking to take out frustration from that loss on a Lightning team playing their third game in four nights, and fourth in six nights. Tampa was in Nashville yesterday, while Toronto rested. The Maple Leafs get a nice bounce back spot.
Play: We’re on the Leafs.
Edmonton at Colorado
The Oilers catch the Avalanche in a good spot for them (Edmonton) and not such a good spot for the home team. For Colorado, this will be their fifth game in eight days, including games in Florida, and travel back home from the East Coast. Toss in a quick trip to Dallas last night, a matchup vs. a Stars team that almost always plays heavy, taking a toll. Edmonton also played last night, over in Utah, but this will only be their second game in a week. They’re the more rested team and it’s not close. Saturday night facing Mackinnon and Makar, the Oiler’s core group will be flying. We’ll get a good number in a nice set-up to back McDavid and his mates.
Play: We’ll take the Oilers.
Sunday, December 1st
Winnipeg at Dallas
The second meeting of the season for these two. In the first one, Dallas ran smack into that long Jets’ winning run to start the season (15-1 in their first 16 games), as they were one of the victims. Looking at that game closer though, the Stars actually matched up well, carrying the play for more stretches of time, while outchancing Winnipeg -and not just after the Jets got up a few goals and let up. Jake Oettinger had a bad outing, getting pulled after giving up four goals on 15 shots. Quite uncharacteristic of him, as he was easily outdueled by Connor Hellybuck. Oettinger, and the rest of his mates get their shot at revenge, hosting a Winnipeg team that has definitely cooled off after those lofty early heights. We’ll take the home team at what should be a very palatable number.
Play: We’re on the Stars
